Current Focus: Education
If we had unlimited resources, we would be simultaneously pursuing all three aspects of our strategy: education, enterprise and healthcare. However, given that we do not, our current focus in on education. We list our healthcare and enterprise strategies here to illustrate that we believe a holistic approach involving these initiatives will provide the most significant positive outcomes in our service communities. We strive to one day have the capacity to implement them. For now, starting July 2016, we will focus all our resources and donations exclusively on our education initiative while seeking partnerships that can pursue the others, like Aseda Fashions, our enterprise initiative. With our Yedea 2017 program, we plan to recruit more people to help us with our other initiatives.- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Long-Term Projects
Our primary objective is to improve kids’ healthcare access and education in resource-deprived communities. We have six secondary objectives that need to be completed on our journey to achieving our primary objective. They are:
learn more about the world around us;
share ideas on making the world a better place;
request feedback on those ideas;
implement them with every intent to improve the lives of kids in less privileged communities;
learn from our mistakes to do more for those in need as we are able;
share our lessons with those who are interested.
We believe that in today’s world there are enough resources to solve the world’s most difficult problems, starting with providing quality healthcare and education access to underprivileged children. All we need to do is help people realize this fact, start the process of connecting these resources, and continuously organize them to address these problems effectively. We believe that our work will inspire and guide others who are also working to improve their communities globally.
Empower children to improve their lives and their communities through WAGiLabs
We will help the children we serve to develop the skills they need to become social entrepreneurs through hands-on learning and mentoring. These kids’ creativity, intellect and skills will be honed through projects that help them understand their communities’ problems with the intent of addressing them.
We will be using the WAGiLabs PlayBook developed by Chic Thompson as a guide for mentor/protégé relationships between our college-level volunteers and our children. These relationships will be aimed at creating viable social entrepreneurship models that address problems in their local communities.
Create jobs for kids’ parents so they can afford to keep their kids in CFK-affiliated schools
We will create opportunities for our volunteers to develop social enterprises that employ parents in their students’ communities for two main reasons. First, so they can enhance their own understanding of the framework they will be teaching their students. When they are not working with students, college-level volunteers will be improving our Aseda Fashions business model so it can at least create employment opportunities while generating break-even revenue .
We will create opportunities for residents in the local communities where we work to hold leadership positions in our organization and our Aseda Fashions incubator so they can understand how we are working to improve their communities to the extent that they can eventually take ownership of our programs.
Use Telehealth to connect children to healthcare professionals
We will create centers where video conferencing, robotic, as well as networked diagnostic devices and systems will connect physicians and surgeons to patients in different geographic locations. As these medical professionals interact with and treat patients using technology, future doctors and surgeons from the local community will observe and assist as part of their training. This approach will allow international medical professionals to contribute to improving the health system in Ghana in a relatively convenient and sustainable way compared to traveling to Ghana periodically in-person to run training workshops and seasonal health clinics.
